DESCRIPTION:The martyr Eusebius\, Bishop of Samosata\, stood firmly for th
 e Orthodox Confession of Faith proclaimed at the First Ecumenical Council 
 at Nicea in the year 325. For this he underwent persecution by the Arians\
 , being repeatedly deprived of his see and banished.\n\nIn the Syriac vers
 ion of Eusebius' Life \, Eusebius had already become a Bishop of Samosata 
 when he received a visit from Jacob of Nisibis\, who allowed him to build 
 a large church. He ordained priests and Bishops during the Arian controver
 sy and was a good friend of the Cappadocians. He was killed by a blow to t
 he head by an Arian woman.\n\n\nRSoH
