SUMMARY:(NET) Nuri • NeonSat & ADRSat
DTSTART;VALUE=DATE:20260801
DTEND;VALUE=DATE:20260802
UID:238862927992
DESCRIPTION:A Korean Nuri (KSLV-II) rocket will launch 13 satellites into
orbit for Korea AeroSpace Administration (KASA) and the Korea Aerospace Re
search Institute (KARI). The primary payloads are five microsatellites for
the NeonSat constellation. The secondary payloads will include KARI's Sat
ellite for Verifying Domestic Components No. 3 and the Active Debris Remov
al Satellite (ADRSat)\, developed by the KAIST Satellite Technology Resear
ch Center. Additionally 6 CubeSats will join the ride to space\, including
  K-STAR\, KAFASAT 2\, GIAMSat 1\, KMU ET-02 and Suncheonsat 1.\n-\nNeonSat
s (New-space Earth Observation Satellite) are ~100kg Earth observation sat
ellites with a high-resolution optical camera designed to monitor for natu
ral disasters along the Korean Peninsula by pairing its images with artifi
cial intelligence. They were developed under the NeonSat program by SaTRe
C and KAIST\, Korea's leading university in science and technology.\n-\nAD
RSat is equipped with robotic arms and will capture & de-orbit Korea's fir
st satellite\, KitSat 1.\n-\nThe 27U CubeSat selected is KARI's 'demonstra
tor for deep space exploration.' Its purpose is to conduct preliminary tra
jectory research for future deep space missions by performing an orbit cha
nge from Low Earth Orbit (LEO) to Geosynchronous Orbit (GSO) using low thr
ust\, and to photograph the Moon and the asteroid Apophis. GSO refers to a
n orbit in which a satellite circles the Earth at the same speed as the pl
 anet's rotation period (24 hours).\n-\nK-STAR is a 6U CubeSat from the Nat
ional Security Research Institute\, which aims to test and verify national
cybersecurity technologies for responding to space-based threats.\n-\nKAF
ASAT 2 is a 6 u CubeSat from the Korea Air Force Academy\, intended for ca
det education through the accumulation of microsatellite design and develo
 pment technologies.\n-\nGAIMSat 1 is a 6U CubeSat from Gwangju City\, whic
h aims to secure artificial intelligence (AI) on-board data processing tec
hnology and verify autonomous flight algorithms.\n-\nKMU ET-02 is a 6U Cub
esat from Kookmin University\, designed for early disaster risk detection
through the analysis of forest species\, vegetation\, and moisture levels
nationwide\, as well as for nurturing talent in space and AI.\n-\nSuncheon
sat 1 is a 3U CubeSat by Suncheon City. Its mission is to photograph the S
uncheon Bay National Garden and wetlands\, analyze ecological changes\, an
d verify the performance of space components from companies within the cit
 y.\n-\nDelayed from June.
