DESCRIPTION:In hagiography: Mamelhta was a virgin and martyr from Beth Gar
 mai. She was known in the Greek martyr Acts as Mamlaha\, Mamlahtina\, Maza
 hia or Malpetha\n\nThe Martyr Mamelchtha of Persia was\, before her conver
 sion to the Christian Faith\, a pagan priestess of the goddess Artemis.\n\
 nThe saint’s sister convinced her to accept Baptism. When the pagans saw
  Memelchtha in her white baptismal robe\, they stoned her. The saint suffe
 red in the year 344. Later\, a church was dedicated to her on the site of 
 the temple of Artemis.
