  announce a workshop on software basics in HEP and STEM organized through 
 the HEP Software Foundation\, IRIS-HEP\, and the Office of Workforce Path
 ways and Partnerships at the Fermi National Accelerator Laboratory.\nThe t
 imes for the workshop are in US Central time zone.\nOver two days we will 
 cover the fundamentals of: \nUnix - shell\, bash commands and scripting\
 nGit and Github – how to version control your code and data  \nPython 
 – fundamentals of using the Python language for analysis\nAI in Python a
 nd AI tools  – Introductory concepts in AI\, with hands-on examples in 
 Python and an overview of AI tools and AI resources at Fermilab\nThis trai
 ning is aimed at those who are new to HEP and want a fast-track to compete
 ncy with software fundamentals\, as well the non-expert self-taught who wi
 sh to ensure they do not have gaps in their knowledge.\nThe training mater
 ial will be taught by tutors expert in HEP software. Interactive hands-on 
 sessions  lead by the tutor will be supported by a number of helpers to e
 nsure all participants are able to follow and understand the material.\nGi
 ven the limited number of participants\, all participants are expected to 
 attend the whole workshop.\nPlease contact the organizers (email us) in ca
 se of any questions.\nNotes for Participants\nParticipants are required to
  have their own laptop for the workshop. If you need one\, contact your me
 ntor or the internship organizers to arrange for a Fermilab loaner laptop.
