The Tranche 1 satellit es (codenamed ?) on this flight are for the Transport Layer and were built by ?. The mission is designated as SDA-T1TL-A and the Falcon 9 booster is B10XX.X for this flight. The 2nd stage is equipped with a Mission Extensi on Kit. Comprising a gray band on the RP-1 tank\, extra helium bottles & b atteries\, this kit extends the life of the stage in-orbit\, allowing it t o deploy the payload directly into its operational orbit.\n-\nOnce fully o perational\, the SDA Transport Layer will consist of a proliferated hetero geneous constellation of data relay space vehicles (SVs) that provide pers istent global coverage through a mesh network comprised of communication s atellites that connect to one another and to other space vehicles and grou nd stations via optical intersatellite links (OISLs). By nature of the mes h network spanning the globe\, the Transport satellites will also be able to transmit precise position\, navigation and timing (PNT) data to enhance GPS. A-class satellites have at least four optical cross-links\, that is so they can talk to satellites that are in plane with one another as they' re traveling and they also can talk to satellites that are cross-plane or in completely different orbits. So they can maintain those four lines of c ommunication simultaneously. The B-class satellites will connect directly to the warfighters via the Link-16 military communications system. They ha ve two optical cross-links each\, so that allows them to maintain constant communication with the other transport satellites in plane. The two other nodes will be Link-16 transmitters. Link-16 is an existing tactical commu nication system used across the services primarily for air and ground syst ems to share low latency data. The first phase of SDA’s Proliferated Warf ighter Space Architecture consists of 28 satellites (Tranche 0 including 2 0 communications payloads made by Lockheed Martin and York Space\, and eig ht missile-tracking infrared sensor satellites made by SpaceX and Leidos) as a proof of concept for the missile tracking and data relay network\, fo llowed by more than 150 additional satellites to provide an initial operat ional capability. In total\, Tranche 1 will consist of 154 operational sat ellites: 126 in the transport layer developed by York\, Northrop Grumman\, and Lockheed Martin\, and 28 focused on missile warning and tracking deve loped by Northrop Grumman and L3Harris. Combining conventional tactical ra dio links\, laser inter-satellite communications\, and wide-view infrared sensors\, hundreds more SDA spacecraft could launch later as the Pentagon ramps up efforts and integrates new capabilities.\n-\nDelayed from Septemb er\, December\, Q2 and October.\n\nWebcast:\nhttps://www.spacex.com/launch es\nhttps://spaceflightnow.com LOCATION:Vandenberg AFB Space Launch Complex 4\, Lompoc\, Kalifornien 9343 6\, USA END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
