The mission is known as Leo 5 by ULA and LA-05 by Amazon. Total pay load mass will be ~16.7 tonnes. Atlas will deploy the satellites in an ini tial orbit of 450km altitude\, the satellites will then use their electric propulsion systems to settle into their assigned final orbits. The Amazon Leo constellation will enable Internet service for customers between 56 d egrees north and south latitude. Atlas will fly in the 551 vehicle configu ration with a five-meter medium length fairing\, five GEM-63 solid rocket boosters and a single-engine Centaur upper stage. The Centaur will use an upgraded RL10C-1-1 upper stage engine. The mission will mark the heaviest payload ever launched by Atlas V.\n\nMission profile video: https://youtu. be/X9vgY6zKwyM\nhttps://x.com/i/status/2036473607774200205\n-\nOperational satellites of the Amazon Leo constellation (formerly known as Project Kui per) are a significant upgrade from the two prototype satellites of the Ku iper Protoflight mission. The ~572kg satellites are equipped with Hall-eff ect thruster technology for propulsion. They feature improved systems and sub-systems on board\, including phased array antennas\, processors\, sola r arrays\, propulsion systems\, and optical inter-satellite links. In addi tion\, the satellites are coated in a dielectric mirror film unique to Ama zon Leo that scatters reflected sunlight to help make them less visible to ground-based astronomers. Amazon Leo is planned to work in concert with A mazon's network of 12 satellite ground station facilities. In addition to connecting to ground stations\, satellites will interconnect via optical i nfrared laser connections. Amazon refers to this technology as OISL (optic al inter-satellite link).\nThe Amazon Leo constellation is planned to cons ist of 3236 satellites operating in 98 orbital planes in three orbital shells\, one each at 590km\, 610km and 630km orbital altitude. Kuiper sate llites will fly in mid-inclination orbits\, enabling Internet service for customers between 56 degrees north and south latitude. Phase 1 of deployme nt will be 578 satellites at 630km altitude and an orbital inclination of 51.9 degrees. A total of five phases of constellation development are plan ned.\n-\nMoved forward from Mar. 30. Delayed from Mar. 29.\n\nWebcast: ht tps://www.youtube.com/live/NAKuVmkp5q8\nhttps://www.ulalaunch.com/missions /next-launch/atlas-v-amazon-leo-5\n\nhttps://spaceflightnow.com LOCATION:Cape Canaveral AFS Launch Complex 41\, Titan III Rd\, Titusville\ , FL 32780\, USA END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
