DESCRIPTION:April 8th is the anniversary of the demise of Mor Dionysius I 
 (Mar Thoma VI) +1808.​\n\nMor Dionysius I was the Malankara Metropolitan
  until his demise\, he was known as Dionysius the Great. He gave the Syria
 c Bible to Dr. Claudius Buchanan\, which is now kept at Cambridge Universi
 ty\, England.\n\n​On 29th of May 1770\, Mor Thoma VI was re-consecrated 
 by the patriarchal delegates\, Mor Gregorios Yuhannon & Mor Ivanios Yuhann
 on\, with the title Dionysius & was invested with the cross & the crozier 
 sent from Antioch for his predecessor. Thenceforth\, the government of the
  Malankara Church was vested in Mor Dionysius I & Mor Ivanios Yuhannon (Pa
 triarchal Delegate) conjointly\, & Mor Gregorios Yuhannon retired to the c
 hurch at Mattancheri built by Mor Baselios Shakralla Maphriyano.​\n\nMor
  Dionysius I departed to the heavenly abode on April 8th 1808. His mortal 
 remains were interred in Puthencavu Syrian Church.\n\nBiography courtesy o
