DESCRIPTION:Bassist Harold Carr has primarily been known as a sideperson (
 e.g.\, Lightnin' Hopkins\, Bobby McFerrin\, John McCuen\, Crystal Gayle\, 
 Steve Lacy).  He is excited to share his compositions in this album relea
 se concert featuring long time friends Andrew Voigt (sax &amp\; flute)\, B
 ruce Ackley (clarinet)\, Flavia Cervino-Wood (violin) and Derek Coombs (pi
 ano).Harold has been musician/poet-in-residence at the Banff Centre in Can
 ada\, guest soloist at the Frutillar Music Festival in Chile\, composer/so
 loist with the Guangdong Modern Dance Company in Guang Zhou\, China\, invi
 ted poet for the Utah State Governor at the Governor's Mansion\, commissio
 ned composer/performer at New Music America and artist-in-residence at Zio
 n Canyon Mesa in Utah.Bruce Ackley (clarinet) is well-known in the free im
 provisation world\, especially as a member of the ROVA Saxophone Quartet.A
 ndrew Voigt (sax\, flute) is a former and founding member of the ROVA saxo
 phone quartet.  He has recorded and performed with Radu Malfati\, Ed Herr
 mann\, Anthony Braxton\, J.A. Deane and others.Flavia Cervino-Wood (violin
 )\, from Chile\, played in Brazil with Grupo Agua\, which toured South Ame
 rica and performed and recorded with Milton Nascimento. In San Francisco s
 he was a featured soloist with the Sol y Luna band along with Rebecca Maul
 eon\, Michael Spiro and John Calloway.  She has performed with Cecil Tayl
 or\, Marilyn Lerner and John Cage compositions with the Merce Cunningham D
 ance Company.Derek Coombs (piano)\, from Singapore\, is known for his ener
 getic and grooving approach to not only piano\, but also Hammond organ. $
