DESCRIPTION:April 9th is the anniversary of the demise of HG Mor Yulios Ku
 riakose +2011. Mor Yulios was the Metropolitan of the Simhasana-Patriarcha
 l churches & institutions in India.\n\nKuirakose\, the youngest son of Var
 key\, Kochupurackal\, Veliyanad and Elyamma was born on 6 July 1933. Kuria
 kose belonged to St. Stephen’s Knanaya Church\, Veliyanad. He joined Man
 jinikkara dayaro as a student at the age of twenty-two. The delegate of th
 e Holy see of Antioch\, Mor Yulios Elias Qoro ordained him a Deacon in Feb
 ruary 1955. His theological studies were completed under the tutelage of V
 ery Rev. Raban Yac'ub (late Mor Julius Yac'ub Madappatt) & Rev. Mousa Sala
 ma Ramban.\n\nHe assisted Mor Yulios Elias in various capacities after his
  ordination as a deacon & a Qashisho. After his ordination in 1958\, he se
 rved as a vicar in Thumpamon and Perumpilly churches & in a church of St. 
 Antony’s association\, Mangalore.\n\nRev. Fr. Kuriakose was appointed as
  the first Secretary to the Patriarch Mor Ignatius Zakka Iwas from 1984 to
  2004. During this period\, he visited many foreign lands along with the P
 atriarch. He was consecrated a raban by the Patriarch at St. George Cathed
 ral\, Damascus on 22 December 1990. His consecration as a Metropolitan und
 er the name Mor Yulios was done at St. Peter’s & St. Paul’s Cathedral\
 , Ma'arat Saidnaya\, Damascus on 27 September 1998. \n\nHis skill in the u
 se of Syriac language enabled him to translate many Syriac books to Malaya
 lam. He learnt the practice of Syrian rites of worship directly from Mor Y
 ulios Elias & it inspired many to follow the Syriac tradition without blem
 ish. \n\nMor Yulios Kuriakose led a life of rest during the final stages o
 f his life in Gethsemane dayaro\, Piramadam. He arrived at Manjanikkara da
 yaro on 8 April 2011 & participated in the Holy Qurbono & noon prayers on 
 Saturday\, 9 April. As he was resting in the afternoon\, he suffered a hea
 rt attack & departed for the heavenly abode by 4 p.m. His mortal remains w
 ere entombed on the western side of the tomb of his mentor & teacher\, Mor
  Yulios Elias at Manjanikkara Dayro cathedral on 11 April 2011.\n\nBiograp
