DESCRIPTION:In 2027\, St Raphael’s Catholic School will again be running
  the Duke of Edinburgh Award which is an enriching program that invites yo
 ung people between the ages of 14 and 25 to participate in a number of act
 ivities over a set length of time. Participation in the award is voluntary
  and completed predominantly outside of normal school hours. The Duke of 
 Edinburgh Award is part of an international network of over 140 countries 
 and 7 million Awardees. In Australia\, the program engages over 35\,000 yo

 rgh Award: Bronze\, Silver &amp\; Gold. In 2026\, your child is invited 
 to participate in the Bronze Award which includes the following:Physical R
 ecreation (13 hours) – Improving your physical fitness and wellbeing. T
 his could be through a team sport or individual pursuit Skill (13 hours)
  – Unleashing your talents and broadening your abilities. Anything from
  refereeing\, to DJing\, to learning a musical instrument\, to jewelry mak
 ing. Do your thing.Volunteering (13 hours) – Connecting with your commu
 nity by giving service. Any area of interest in the community\, such as yo
 uth work\, the environment or charity work.Adventurous Journeys – This 
 is the only section that requires the activity to be undertaken in a team.
  Discovering your sense of adventure and bonding with your friends.There w
 ill be an information evening for interested students and their parents to
  be held in the Mother Scholastica Learning Centre at St Raphael's Catholi
 c School on Tuesday 20th October 2026 from 5pm-6pm. The information eveni
 ng is compulsory for any Year 8 students (and parents) who wish to complet
