The Tranche 1 satellit es (codenamed Wildfire) on this flight are for the Transport Layer and wer e built by Lockheed Martin. The mission is designated as SDA-T1TL-A and th e Falcon 9 booster is B10XX.X for this flight. The 2nd stage is equipped w ith a Mission Extension Kit. Comprising a gray band on the RP-1 tank\, ext ra helium bottles & batteries\, this kit extends the life of the stage in- orbit\, allowing it to deploy the payload directly into its operational or bit.\n-\nOnce fully operational\, the SDA Transport Layer will consist of a proliferated heterogeneous constellation of data relay space vehicles (S Vs) that provide persistent global coverage through a mesh network compris ed of communication satellites that connect to one another and to other sp ace vehicles and ground stations via optical intersatellite links (OISLs). By nature of the mesh network spanning the globe\, the Transport satellit es will also be able to transmit precise position\, navigation and timing (PNT) data to enhance GPS. A-class satellites have at least four optical c ross-links\, that is so they can talk to satellites that are in plane with one another as they're traveling and they also can talk to satellites tha t are cross-plane or in completely different orbits. So they can maintain those four lines of communication simultaneously. The B-class satellites w ill connect directly to the warfighters via the Link-16 military communica tions system. They have two optical cross-links each\, so that allows them to maintain constant communication with the other transport satellites in plane. The two other nodes will be Link-16 transmitters. Link-16 is an ex isting tactical communication system used across the services primarily fo r air and ground systems to share low latency data. The first phase of SDA ’s Proliferated Warfighter Space Architecture consists of 28 satellites (Tranche 0 including 20 communications payloads made by Lockheed Martin an d York Space\, and eight missile-tracking infrared sensor satellites made by SpaceX and Leidos) as a proof of concept for the missile tracking and d ata relay network\, followed by more than 150 additional satellites to pro vide an initial operational capability. In total\, Tranche 1 will consist of 154 operational satellites: 126 in the transport layer developed by Yor k\, Northrop Grumman\, and Lockheed Martin\, and 28 focused on missile war ning and tracking developed by Northrop Grumman and L3Harris. Combining co nventional tactical radio links\, laser inter-satellite communications\, a nd wide-view infrared sensors\, hundreds more SDA spacecraft could launch later as the Pentagon ramps up efforts and integrates new capabilities.\n- \nDelayed from September\, December and Q2.\n\nWebcast:\nhttps://www.space x.com/launches\nhttps://spaceflightnow.com LOCATION:Vandenberg AFB Space Launch Complex 4\, Lompoc\, Kalifornien 9343 6\, USA END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
