DESCRIPTION:Born in Rio de Janeiro\, guitarist\, composer and arranger Ric
 ardo Peixoto came to the U.S. by way of a scholarship to the Berklee Colle
 ge of Music\, and later settled in the Bay Area. An inspired improviser wi
 th a keen compositional sense\, Ricardo’s eloquent style evokes images f
 ar beyond his Brazilian territory. In addition to his most recent recordin
 g ‘Scary Beautiful’\, Peixoto’s long-standing partnership with vocal
 ist/composer Claudia Villela has produced the acclaimed CD ‘Inverse Univ
 erse’. Peixoto has recorded and performed with\, among others\, Flora Pu
 rim and Airto\, Claudia Villela\, Bud Shank\, Dom Um Romão\, Claudio Rodi
 ti\, Toots Thielemans and Dori Caymmi.Guitarist\, composer\, arranger\, an
 d teacher Carlos Oliveira\, originally from the state of Pernambuco (North
 east region of Brazil)\, started playing the guitar in his teens but lived
  in the US since 1980 teaching and performing his native music in which he
  showcases a variety of Brazilian music styles. His CD Brazilian Origins w
 as released in 2000\, and his group Brazilian Origins has appeared as main
  and introductory acts for great Brazilian artists such as Sergio Mendes\,
  Jaques Morelenbaum Quartet\, Rosa Passos\, and has appeared at many impor
 tant venues like Yoshis\, Kuumbwa Jazz\, San Francisco\, San Jose and Mont
 erey Jazz Festivals
