In the early days of the Holy Church\, all the neophytes who were bapti zed on Easter &\; whom were learning about the faith &\; traditions of the Church during the Bright Week (S'habtho d'Hevorae) would receive th eir first true Holy Communion. With said Holy Qurbono\, it would be a new chapter in the lives of these Christians. The Gospel of St. John recalls C hrist's revelation to His Apostles following His Resurrection. Today the C hurch also commemorates the proclamation of faith by St. Thomas\, "My Lord &\; my God" John 20:28. He is traditionally referred to as 'Doubting T homas' because of the exchange between him &\; his fellow Apostles as w ritten in the Gospel of St. John 20:24-25. However\, this doubt isn't a la pse in his character as a disciple or his genuine belief in God. It should be seen in the light of one whose faith is further strengthened by the ma nifested glory of God's miraculous power. Doubt is the first step to belie f. It is his confession of faith in front of the newly appeared Christ\, t hat will be etched in Christendom for eternity. Christ knew the heart of T homas &\; tells him to feel His wounds. There is not an unbelieving wor d in our tongues\, nor thought in our minds\, but it is known to the Lord Jesus\; &\; he was pleased to accommodate himself even to Thomas\, rath er than leave him in his unbelief. Thomas proclaims 'My Lord and my God' ( John 20:28).This proclamation is the sum total of the salvific act of Jesu s Christ on earth. This confession of faith is repeated in every Holy Qurb ono when the second coming of Christ is commemorated.
