Using examples frommy own work\, I w ill discuss the development and commercialization oftechnologies spanning pavement markings\, mechanical fasteners\, windshieldsealants\, window fil ms\, and connected safety solutions. The talk will highlight how structure –process-propertyrelationships\, process understanding\, and manufactura bility influence productperformance and successful scale-up. I will also d iscuss strategies used toprotect and deploy innovation\, including the eff ective use of patents\, andtrade secrets\, illustrated through selected ex amples from my portfolio of morethan 28 issued patents.I will share perspe ctives on building cross-functional\,high-performance teams and on transit ioning new technologies from research tothe marketplace. I will conclude w ith reflections on career pathways inindustry and the importance of contin ued advocacy for STEM education andengineering careers. LOCATION:LGRT 201 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
