DESCRIPTION:Boots on the Ground – Resistant EntrepreneurshipThis worksho
p is designed for migrant and diasporic creatives from the Global South wh
o want to initiate or strengthen their creative entrepreneurship. Many wo
rkshops support people in starting a business\, but they often lack an und
erstanding of the perspectives\, realities\, and challenges migrants\, non
-hegemonic people\, and those working outside dominant economic and cultu
ral systems face. The workshop will be led by Natalia García-Fuentes\, a U
SYD researcher exploring alternative forms of entrepreneurship\, particul
arly models rooted in Latin American practices that resisttraditional ca
pitalist economic relations.Concepts such as autogestión and cooperativ
ism will guide the sessions\, giving creatives the tools to plan and str
ucture their businesses with intention\, build sustainable practices\, and
explore the emancipatory potential of creating their own livelihoods wi
 thin a community-based framework.
