DESCRIPTION:It is recommended to participate in the Ke Kahua o Kualiʻi -
  Palalupe activity today (just down the road towards Kailua)\, where MINA
  leaders will be present. If you for academic reasons or otherwise prefer
  to participate in the Haʻikū activity\, please check with MINA staff ah
 ead of time and know that it is an individual activity.  Since no MINA l
 eaders are present\, document participation with timestamped photos (sel
 fies) taken at beginning and end of the activities with recognizable backg
 round/site coordinators. Email the photos the same day to csssl@hawaii.ed
 u. Counts for up to 5 hours of service-learningWe are looking forward to
  seeing you at the meeting spot by Kamehameha preschool.  If you registe
 red for this event but are prevented from coming\, it is important to let 
 us know - even if it is at the last minute.  We will be leaving the meet
 ing site at exactly 9:00 am\, and caravan up to Kanehekili Heiau area thro
 ugh several locked gates. So\, if you wish to participate\, you MUST arriv
 e by 9 am - it's quite a drive up the mountain to our work site\, and we d

 u Foundation is a cultural heritage preservation program. The mission is t
 o pursue and promote Hawaiian cultural and environmental practices\, prese
 rvation and education. The cultural service work in Haʻikū generally oc
 curs on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Because the valley has lock
 ed gates\, we will need to enter the valley together. The gates will be lo
 cked once all our vehicles have entered the valley. We'll work until abou
 t noon\, have lunch and story-telling\, and leave the valley around 1:30 p
 m. Mahalo for helping restore and preserve Haʻikū Valley\, its beauty
 \, and history! TO BE PREPAREDThere is no restroom in the Valley. The nea
 rest public restroom is at He’eia Neighborhood ParkWear long sleeves and
