DESCRIPTION:We prepare for the Holy Eucharist of the Great Feast of Theoph
 any with the Vigil. Theophany means "God revealed"\; the feast is also cal
 led by some "Epiphany\," but should not be confused with the Western Chris
 tian feast day of the same name. At this feast we celebrate God as reveale
 d in the baptism of Christ. The Vigil is a beautiful yet challenging servi
 ce that stretches us spiritually to prepare ourselves for the full celebra
 tion of the "manifestation of God" (i.e.\, "Theophany"). \n\nAt the end of
  the Vigil\, we have the annual Great Blessing of the Waters\, and holy wa
 ter is distributed.
