The absence of a chordal instrument creates a uniquely uncluttered textu re for both players and listeners\, with a repertoire that includes standa rds\, original compositions\, and a diverse array of other challenging pie ces curated specifically for this format.\n\nTod Dickow - Sax\nSan Francis co-based saxophonist Tod Dickow performs in a wide variety of\nsettings\, ranging from big bands to small combos\, adding a dynamic voice as an\nacc omplished soloist and accompanist. His style is steeped in the traditions of\nbebop and modern jazz\, influenced by masters such as John Coltrane\, Wayne\nShorter\, Joe Henderson\, Sonny Rollins\, Dexter Gordon\, and more. He is also\nheavily influenced by a crop of Coltrane devotees\, including Michael Brecker\,\nDave Liebman\, Steve Grossman\, and Bob Berg. As a fre quent guest of the band\nCharged Particles\, Tod has been performing with legendary trumpeter Randy\nBrecker at many of the top jazz venues around t he world\, such as Ronnie Scott’s\,\nBirdland\, Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley \, Vibrato\, Blues Alley\, Dazzle Denver\, Keys\nJazz Bistro\, the Bach Da ncing and Dynamite Society\, and SFJAZZ.\n\nJim Kerwin – Bass\nJim plays in a wide variety of musical styles\, being equally at ease playing Rock\ ,\nJazz\, Classical\, and Bluegrass. Among his many accomplishments\, he t oured\nEurope with the Larry Blackshere Trio for five years\, and upon ret urning to the\nUnited States he began playing with Mandolinist’s David G risman Quintet\, with\nwhom he continues to play with today. With Grisman\ , he has performed and\nrecorded with many great string artists such as Ma rtin Taylor\, Stephane\nGrappelli\, Jerry Garcia\, and many others. Jim ha s played on five Grammy\nNominated recordings. The Garcia/Grisman recordin g project (1990-1995) was\na highlight of Jim’s career.\n\nCurt Moore – Drums\nCurt has been playing drums in a wide variety of styles for man y years and has\nshared the stage and recording studio with musical artist s spanning many\nmusical styles. He has over 100 recordings to his credit. Some of the artists he\nhas recorded and performed with include: Francisc o Aguabella\, Count Basie\nOrchestra\, Chuck Berry\, Ray Brown\, Joyce Coo ling\, John Clayton\, Richard\nDavis\, Ian Dogole\, Pete Escovedo\, Bruce Forman\, Lola Falana\, Vic Firth\, Mimi\nFox\, Scott Hamilton\, Jimmy Hasl ip\, Jimmy Heath\, Jackie and Roy\, Andy Narell\,\nPatrick Palomo\, Kat Pa rra\, Bernadette Peters\, Rufus Reed\, Francios Rabatth\,\nSan Jose Jazz O rchestra\, Turtle Island String Quartet\, and his own group that he\nco-le ads\, a Latin-Jazz group called Soul Sauce.
