The Tranche 1 satellite s (codenamed ?) on this flight are for the Tracking Layer and were built b y ?. The mission is designated as SDA-T1TR-C and the Falcon 9 booster is B 10XX.X for this flight. The 2nd stage is equipped with a Mission Extension Kit. Comprising a gray band on the RP-1 tank\, extra helium bottles & bat teries\, this kit extends the life of the stage in-orbit\, allowing it to deploy the payload directly into its operational orbit.\n-\nOnce fully ope rational\, the SDA Tracking Layer will consist of a proliferated heterogen eous constellation of Wide Field of View (WFOV) space vehicles (SVs) that provide persistent global coverage and custody capability combined with th e Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Hypersonic and Ballistic Tracking Space Sen sor (HBTSS) Medium Field of View (MFOV) SVs that provide precision global access capability. This set of contract awards will initiate the developme nt of the first eight low-cost proliferated WFOV SVs. The capability demon strated by the Tracking Layer Tranche 0 will provide missile warning and t racking information to national defense authorities\, and tracking and cue ing data for missile defense elements. Each satellite will have a “wide field of view” overhead persistent infrared (OPIR) sensor capable of det ecting and tracking advanced missile threats from low Earth orbit. The sat ellites will also be equipped with optical crosslinks to pass data to the Transport Layer relay satellites. The first phase of SDA’s Proliferated W arfighter Space Architecture consists of 28 satellites (Tranche 0 includin g 20 communications payloads made by Lockheed Martin and York Space\, and eight missile-tracking infrared sensor satellites made by SpaceX and Leido s) as a proof of concept for the missile tracking and data relay network\, followed by more than 150 additional satellites to provide an initial ope rational capability. In total\, Tranche 1 will consist of 154 operational satellites: 126 in the transport layer developed by York\, Northrop Grumma n\, and Lockheed Martin\, and 28 focused on missile warning and tracking d eveloped by Northrop Grumman and L3Harris. Combining conventional tactical radio links\, laser inter-satellite communications\, and wide-view infrar ed sensors\, hundreds more SDA spacecraft could launch later as the Pentag on ramps up efforts and integrates new capabilities.\n-\nDelayed from Q4 a nd Q1.\n\nWebcast:\nhttps://www.spacex.com/launches\nhttps://spaceflightno w.com LOCATION:Vandenberg AFB Space Launch Complex 4\, Lompoc\, Kalifornien 9343 6\, USA END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
