 n\, but born and raised here in San Francisco. Some of Sedge’s first exp
 eriences with jazz and improvised music were here at Bird &amp\; Beckett\,
  checking out shows and playing at jam sessions. He has performed at the N
 orth Sea Jazz Festival\, Umbria Jazz Festival\, Healdsburg Jazz Festival\,
  and more. In performance\, Sedge has shared the stage with artists like T
 errence Blanchard\, Sean Jones\, Etienne Charles\, Elena Pinderhughes\, an
 d others. Sedge went to Ruth Asawa School of the Arts\, and is currently s
 tudying music at The New School of Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhatta
 n.Sedge will be joined by a fantastic band of his peers:Matt Stark is a sa
 xophonist\, multi-instrumentalist\, composer\, and bandleader currently li
 ving in New York. His music has been performed at venues including Yoshi's
 \, SFJAZZ\, Smalls\, Glasshaus\, and Dizzy's Club at Lincoln Center. Spen
 cer Tantameng is a vibraphone player from the Bay Area. He is currently st
 udying music therapy at the Berklee College of Music.Born in Hong Kong and
  raised in the Bay Area\, Lucas Chow is a pianist and composer studying mu
 sic and neuroscience at UCLA. Mentored by Sullivan Fortner\, Kyle Athayde 
 and Tamir Hendelman\, he continues to shapes his sound to connect with lis
 tenersOscar Wisnia is a 19 year-old drummer and composer based in New York
  City. Oscar has played with such New York jazz luminaries as Gene Perla\,
  Steve Carrington\, and Emmanuel Michael\, as well as important West Afric
 an musicians in New York like Mamady Kouyate\, Abdoulaye Toure\, and other
 s. The music tonight is all original music composed by Sedge over the pas
 t two years. His music draws from a wide range of influences such as Duke 
 Ellington\, Billy Strayhorn\, Pat Metheny\, Charles Mingus\, Miles Davis\,
  Wayne Shorter\, Immanuel Wilkins\, and many more.

 nds playing music they enjoy in an open and highly improvisational setting
 . The absence of a chordal instrument creates a uniquely uncluttered textu
 re for both players and listeners\, with a repertoire that includes standa
 rds\, original compositions\, and a diverse array of other challenging pie
 ces curated specifically for this format.\n\nTod Dickow - Sax\nSan Francis
 co-based saxophonist Tod Dickow performs in a wide variety of\nsettings\, 
 ranging from big bands to small combos\, adding a dynamic voice as an\nacc
 omplished soloist and accompanist. His style is steeped in the traditions 
 of\nbebop and modern jazz\, influenced by masters such as John Coltrane\, 
 Wayne\nShorter\, Joe Henderson\, Sonny Rollins\, Dexter Gordon\, and more.
  He is also\nheavily influenced by a crop of Coltrane devotees\, including
  Michael Brecker\,\nDave Liebman\, Steve Grossman\, and Bob Berg. As a fre
 quent guest of the band\nCharged Particles\, Tod has been performing with 
 legendary trumpeter Randy\nBrecker at many of the top jazz venues around t
 he world\, such as Ronnie Scott’s\,\nBirdland\, Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley
 \, Vibrato\, Blues Alley\, Dazzle Denver\, Keys\nJazz Bistro\, the Bach Da
 ncing and Dynamite Society\, and SFJAZZ.\n\nJim Kerwin – Bass\nJim plays
  in a wide variety of musical styles\, being equally at ease playing Rock\
 ,\nJazz\, Classical\, and Bluegrass. Among his many accomplishments\, he t
 oured\nEurope with the Larry Blackshere Trio for five years\, and upon ret
 urning to the\nUnited States he began playing with Mandolinist’s David G
 risman Quintet\, with\nwhom he continues to play with today. With Grisman\
 , he has performed and\nrecorded with many great string artists such as Ma
 rtin Taylor\, Stephane\nGrappelli\, Jerry Garcia\, and many others. Jim ha
 s played on five Grammy\nNominated recordings. The Garcia/Grisman recordin
 g project (1990-1995) was\na highlight of Jim’s career.\n\nCurt Moore 
 – Drums\nCurt has been playing drums in a wide variety of styles for man
 y years and has\nshared the stage and recording studio with musical artist
 s spanning many\nmusical styles. He has over 100 recordings to his credit.
