A SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket will launch 9 new generation Globalstar communications satellites into low Earth orbit (LEO). Globalstar M104–M112? will be the 98th to 106th satellites launched for Globalstar's constellation. Globalstar reserves 85% of its network capacity for Apple’s Emergency SOS via Satellite service. The 17 satellites under this contract, built by MDA with Lightning buses supplied by Rocket Lab, are intended to sustain and grow that capacity through the middle of the next decade. Each satellite is also expected to support Globalstar’s broader Band 53 terrestrial-spectrum services.
