A Chinese Long March (Chang Zheng) CZ-3B/E rocket will launch the Zhongxing 9C (中星9C, Chinasat 9C) communications satellite. It is a Ku band telecommunications satellite based on the DFH-4 satellite bus developed by the China Academy of Space Technology (CAST). Equipped with 18 36MHz and four 54MHz transponders, it will be used to provide radio and TV transmission, digital film and broadband and other broadcasting services to China, Hong Kong, Macau and Taiwan. Zhongxing 9C will have a mass of 5.1 tonnes at launch and is expected operate for 15 years. The launcher will fly in the CZ-3B/G2 version with a 4m diameter payload fairing.
