Can count for up to 5 hours of service-learning, but ONLY for students already formally registered (including with the UHM waiver) for MINA for either Fall 2025 or Spring 2026. If you still are working on reaching your MINA hours goal from Fall - and have time - this may be a good activity to join. This is an individual activity. We will be leaving the meeting site at exactly 9:00 am, and caravan up to Kanehekili Heiau area through several locked gates. So, if you wish to participate, you MUST arrive by 9 am - it's quite a drive up the mountain to our work site, and we don't plan on coming back down to retrieve late-comers. We are looking forward to seeing you at the meeting spot by Kamehameha preschool. Call us at (808) 330-1276 if you have any questions. If you registered for this event but are prevented from coming, it is important to let us know - even if it is at the last minute. DUAL REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED by THURSDAY before the activityEmail malamapono744@aim.com Email also csssl@hawaii.edu. Clearly state if you are completing Fall hours - or just want to get a feel for MINA activities. Hours earned cannot count until you are formally registered with the MINA program. The cultural service work in Haʻikū generally occurs on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Because the valley has locked gates, we will need to enter the valley together. The gates will be locked once all our vehicles have entered the valley. We'll work until about noon, have lunch and story-telling, and leave the valley around 1:30 pm.
