With the support of the local community, Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi continues to implement Māhuahua ʻAi o Hoi (Regrowing the Fruit of Hoi), a long-range project to restore agricultural and ecological productivity to nearly 405-acres within the wetlands of Heʻeia. Through our cultural, educational and ecosystem restoration programs, Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi is promoting the social and economic advancement of the local community. Weekday loʻi workdays occur weekly on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Fridays. Coming from Honolulu or H3, take Likelike Highway heading towards Kāne'ohe. Take right onto Kahekili Highway. Turn right on Ha'ikū Road, go past Windward Mall on your right. At last 4 way intersection on Ha'ikū, take left onto Kamehameha Hwy. You should pass King Intermediate School on your right. Slow down, you will take a left turn into a red gate BEFORE the bridge. You should see the Kākoʻo ʻŌiwi sign. Park in front of the building and wait for staff.PARKINGPark perpendicular to the building. Be mindful not to block any roads, machinery, or building access points. Please enter through the main gate and stay to your left and follow the road. You will see the loʻi on your right-hand side and a covered structure with tools and a seating area on your left. Please park after the covered structure on your left-hand side.
