Digital Accessibility - Part 2

Join hereSpeaker:Cody Bailey-CrowInstructional Designer,Oakland University William Beaumont School of MedicineDescription:Following the Oakland University initiative to support digitally accessible content, this webinar will explore introductory topics related to digital accessibility. It is intended for OUWB faculty, staff, and administrators who create and disseminate digital content that is shared with students or publicly on Oakland University platforms (including Moodle, eSpace, social media, or websites). While attendance at one of the Part 1 sessions is not mandatory, you may be better equipped to understand certain concepts discussed during Part 2 by either attending an upcoming Part 1 session or watching a previously recorded Part 1 session.  Part 2 will build upon the topics discussed during Part 1; specifically, we will cover accessibility in Google Suite applications (i.e., Docs, Slides, etc.) and explore recommended/best practices related to the development of captions and transcripts for recorded video content. Part 2 will also address certain concerns and questions that were raised by participants who attended Part 1 that could not be answered during the scope of that session. Objectives:At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be better able to:Discuss accessibility issues and corresponding fixes in Google Suite applications (i.e., Docs, Slides, etc.); and, Examine strategies and best practices related to writing and editing captions and transcripts for pre-recorded and live-recorded content.
