(NET) Electron • Capella 20

A Rocket Lab Electron rocket topped with a Curie upper stage will launch the tenth satellite of the Acadia series (named Acadia 10) for Capella Space. Rocket Lab's mission will be named "?". Electron will fly with an extended fairing. - Capella Acadia satellites are improved 165-187kg Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) sats which accommodate a sensor aperture for the X-band SAR that can provide high-contrast, low-noise high-resolution sub-0.5 meter imagery. They feature a 3.5-meter aperture deployable mesh-based reflector antenna. The improved satellites increase radar bandwidth from 500 to 700 megahertz and power by more than 40 percent compared to the Capella 2nd generation Whitney satellite series, and are 50% larger. For Acadia, Capella is upgrading the payload downlink antenna to reduce the time between ground contact and imaging. Acadia satellites also will be equipped with optical communications terminals, a move designed to reduce the time from imagery collection to downlinking. Capella is planning a 30 satellite constellation in its final stage. Webcast:  https://www.rocketlabusa.com/live-stream
