The Year 12 Physics excursion to Canberra will include a visit to Questacon for revision of a variety of practical physics concepts covered in the Stage 6 course. The students will experience a guided tour at NASA’s Canberra Deep Space Communication Centre, to learn about Australia’s history and future in space research. The students will be challenged in an escape room. This is a fun, engaging way to develop team work and problem solving skills. Itinerary 6:30am Depart St Raphael’s Catholic School 9:00am Questacon 11:30am Recess and drive to Canberra Deep Space Communication Centre 12:30pm Canberra Deep Space Communication Centre 2:45pm Escape Rooms Canberra- The Vault 6:15pm Arrive St Raphael’s Catholic SchoolStudents may wear appropriate mufti clothing, with enclosed footwear (eg running shoes).Students need to pack all food and drinks for the extended day. This may include breakfast, recess, lunch and afternoon tea. Students will depart from the front of St Raphael’s Catholic school at 6:30am. Please arrive at least 5 minutes early. Return will be approximately 6:15pm. Any change from this expected return time will be communicated with parents/carers directly as required. The supervising teacher is Miss Danielle Gibbs. Transport will be by car, driven by the teacher.
