First Sunday public service of the Divine Liturgy of the Merced Mission of the Eastern Orthodox Church was on January 27, 1985, a feast day for our father among the saints, St. John Chrysostom. That first service was held at The Scout Hut in Applegate Park here in Merced. Come to St. Mary Magdalene Orthodox Church this Sunday and celebrate our life together. We will have a special Luncheon.
