Dear CSB Friends, You are warmly invited to join us for a Meet-and-Greet Happy Hour with our Artist-in-Residence, Ryan Martinez.WHEN: Friday, March 27, 2026TIME: 4:00 PM – 5:00 PMWHERE: CCSR AtriumWe will have drinks and light finger foods available.Ryan Anthony Martinez is a classically trained artist, live painter, muralist, and art installer living in Oakland & has been selected as Stanford Medical Centers inaugural Artist in Residence. Ryan moved up to the Bay Area to complete his MFA in computer arts and illustration. Inspired by the energy of electronic music and hip-hop culture, he paints live on stage with the musical artists who inspire him. He uses his unique skillset to create uplifting imagery highlighting a meaningful connection between him and his subjects. Equality, diversity, and social justice fueled a series of murals that he completed during the pandemic to raise awareness. During his tenure as a professional art handler, Ryan worked closely with Stanford Children’s Hospital, which led him to discover this position as a resident artist. With the belief that art can help heal, he looks forward to helping shape the Medicine and the Muse program at Stanford. These current times are very challenging and require a degree of sensitivity and inclusion that Ryan highlights within his work.
