ADW 2nd Collection - World Mission Sunday

World MissionSundayEstablishedin 1926 by Pope Pius XI, World Mission Sunday is coordinated by the Society forthe Propagation of the Faith, one of the four Pontifical Mission Societies. Itspurpose is to sustain more than 1,124 mission territories — places where theChurch is young, often materially poor, and sometimes persecuted, but where theseed of the Gospel is being planted and nourished. World Mission Sunday is theone Sunday each year when the entire Catholic Church comes together in prayer,reflection, and sacrificial giving for the missions. On that day, there is aglobal collection in every parish, in every diocese, in every country forthe support of the missions.This year, World Mission Sunday is October 19. Each parish is being mailedenvelopes and posters to use to promote the collection. More information andresources can be found here.
