Work with Hoʻoulu ʻĀina staff to pull weeds, take care of native forest and food plants, mālama pathways and trails. Help to heal the land - and know that the healing is reciprocal. Please wear boots and clothes you don't mind getting dirty. Also be prepared to use tools such as pick, shovel, ʻōʻō, machete (if you have your own, please bring!!). Actual activities will vary week-to-week based on on-going projects. Kihe mauli ola!TO BE PREPAREDBe prepared for anything! Wear clothes/shoes that you can get dirty. Bring a refillable water bottle and tools if you have them and know how to use them. Remember to take a photo of you doing work to get your timesheet signed by MINA staff.DIRECTIONSHoʻoulu ʻĀina is located at the very end of Kalihi Street. The driveway is across the wooden bridge, on the right hand side. A hand-written sign says, "This land is your grandmother, and she loves YOU." Drive up and park inside the area. Alternatively, you can take the city bus as far up Kalihi Street as it goes - and walk the last 10-15 min.
