Infants Cultural Immersion Day

During this year, Kindergarten and Year 1 students have been learning about the past and Indigenous cultures by engaging with stories, images, objects, and learning about local sacred sites. To reinforce this content, we have organised a full-day excursion which incorporates a discovery walk to Bellevue Hill.Day OverviewOur day will begin by catching the bus to Bellevue Hill and viewing local landmarks along the way. We will enjoy recess at the park, play on the equipment at the Adventure Playground, and walk up to the lookout.Kiri Hubber, our Aboriginal Education Worker, will talk to us about sacred sites in the Cowra area and guide a walk through the park to view scar trees and rock paintings. Chris Colemane will then join us to teach special Aboriginal dances in the dance circle. Afterwards, students will have lunch and playtime before catching the bus back to school in the afternoon. We might even get to try some kangaroo meatballs cooked for us on the BBQ!
