A China Academy of Launch Vehicle Technology (CALT) Jielong (Smart Dragon) SD-3 rocket will perform a sea launch from the Dongfang Hangtiangang ship at Haiyang Spaceport. It will carry the fourth batch of operational satellites for Geespace, a subsidiary of automaker Geely. The group of 12 GeeSAT satellites is designated Geely 06, which were built on the GeeSAT100 platform, so each sat weighs ~100kg. Geespace has a series of GeeSAT platforms weighing 10kg–3000kg. Geely Future Mobility Constellation is a Chinese private navigation augmentation system developed by Geespace, a subsidiary of the Zhejiang Geely Holding Group. These satellites will be providing centimeter-level positioning services to terminals on the ground, notably in automotive, marine or UAV applications. They will also provide cloud and data processing services to the aforementioned industries. The first 72 satellites of the Geely constellation will be launched by 2025. A second phase of deployment will add 168 more satellites to the fleet. The satellites are designed for lifetimes of five years, and will propel themselves back into Earth’s atmosphere at the end of their missions, where they will burn out without leaving behind any space debris. - Delayed from Sep. 2.
