We'll start watching the movie “Ocean with David Attenborough”, a stunning look at marine environments around the world. The documentary showcases incredible underwater footage while highlighting the urgent conservation challenges our oceans face today. Following the film, Professor Douglas McCauley, from UC Santa Barbara (also a UC Berkeley alum!) will lead our discussion. As director of the Benioff Ocean Science Laboratory, he brings years of hands-on research experience and can speak to both the science behind what we see on screen and the practical work happening in ocean conservation right now. This is also a chance to meet other UC community members who care about sustainability. Whether you're newly interested in environmental issues or already working in the field, you'll find people with shared interests and diverse perspectives. The UC Sustainability Network connects people who want to make a difference in environmental issues.
