2026 Medical Education Week: Cultivating a Culture of Compassion Through Service: The How-tos of Staff, Faculty, and Physician Community Engagement

Since the school's inception we've cultivated and championed student service and community engagement, but we haven't provided the same care and attention to our staff, faculty, and physician community members. In this session, participants will gain an understanding of why community engagement is critical to all of OUWB, how to be active participants within the OUWB and local communities, and how to leverage participation through the GivePulse community engagement platform for personal and professional development.Objectives:At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be better able to:Describe the key elements of community engagement.Recognize the importance of community engagement to OUWB.Identify community engagement opportunities for staff, faculty and physicians.Connect community engagement activities to the GivePulse community engagement platform.
