Arianespace will launch an Ariane 6 rocket to put a batch of 35 operational satellites for Amazon's Kuiper constellation. The constellation will number 3236 satellites, spread out in 98 orbital planes, or pathways, crisscrossing the planet at an average altitude of about 610km. In its license application with the Federal Communications Commission, Amazon said the Kuiper satellites will fly in mid-inclination orbits, enabling Internet service for customers between 56 degrees north and south latitude. Ariane 6 will fly in the Ariane 64 configuration, using 4 solid rocket boosters. This mission will be the inaugural launch for this variant. - Delayed from 2020, June 2021, June 2023, 2024 and September 2025. Webcast: https://www.arianespace.com/road-to-space/
