(NET) Falcon 9 B5 • Bandwagon-4

A SpaceX Falcon 9 Block 5 rocket will launch several smallsats on the Bandwagon-4 rideshare mission to a mid-inclination orbit. Main payload is the third SAR satellite for South Korean Defense Acquisition Program Administration (DAPA), also known as KORSAT 4. It is the synthetic aperture radar component of the 425 Project reconnaissance satellite constellation, which consists of an EO/IR sat and four SAR satellites. Also aboard are Tomorrow-S9 & Tomorrow-S10, San Xavier and four GUMUSH picosatellites. The booster is designated B10XX.X for this mission and will perform a RTLS landing at LZ-4. - The 800kg high resolution SAR satellites were developed by a consortium consisting of Korean Aerospace Industries (KAI) and Hanwha Systems Corp with Thales Alenia Space providing the SAR payload. The Thales Alenia Space SAR payload uses a specialized 5m antenna folded as 24 petals that will open in space to form a parabolic dish. Additionally TAS also provided the platform elements, especially for Control Momentum Gyro and sensors, derived from their HE-R1000 product (High Efficiency Radar). - Delayed from May. Moved forward from July. Webcast: https://www.spacex.com/launches https://spaceflightnow.com
