St Andrew’s Church Hall, 259 Barker Road, SubiacoBook herePerth Scottish Fiddlers is a vibrant group of musicians brought together by the rich and varied violin and dance repertoire of Scotland, both traditional and contemporary. Their repertoire ranges from haunting airs and graceful strathspeys to high-energy reels and jigs. The group also perform original arrangements with Australian flavour added to the Scottish tradition. The group is directed by musician and teacher Margaret Schlink.The group was founded in 2009 to give musicians the opportunity to learn and play Scottish music, with membership open to any interested string players. Since then they have played at a variety of venues and events including the recent Scottish themed Albany Folk and Shanty Festival, Fairbridge Festival, Little Folk Festival in Dwellingup and the National Folk Festival. They have also hosted a number of ‘Music and Mayhem’ evenings with music and dance, and been the supporting act for some of Australia’s best Scottish musicians.
