 fore the activity.We  will be leaving the meeting site at exactly 9:00 a
 m\, and caravan up to Kanehekili Heiau area through several locked gates. 
 So\, if you wish to participate\, you MUST arrive by 9 am - it&#39\;s quit
 e a drive up the mountain to our work site\, and we don&#39\;t plan on com
 ing back down to retrieve late-comers.ACTIVITY DESCRIPTIONThe Koʻolau Fou
 ndation is a cultural heritage preservation program. The mission is to pur
 sue and promote Hawaiian cultural and environmental practices\, preservati
 on and education. The cultural service work in Haʻikū generally occurs 
 on the 2nd and 4th Sunday of each month. Because the valley has locked ga
 tes\, we will need to enter the valley together. The gates will be locked 
 once all our vehicles have entered the valley. We&#39\;ll work until abou
 t noon\, have lunch and story-telling\, and leave the valley around 1:30 p
 m. Mahalo for helping restore and preserve Haʻikū Valley\, its beauty
 \, and history! TO BE PREPAREDThere is no restroom in the Valley. The nea
 rest public restroom is at He’eia Neighborhood ParkWear long sleeves and
  long pantsWear closed-toe shoesBring gardening gloves and tools if you ha
 ve (and are skillful in using them)Bring filled reusable water bottleBring
  snacks and mess kitDIRECTIONSMeet at the top of Haʻikū Road (past Halei
 wa Joe’s) by Kamehameha preschool at 8:45am. Be there BEFORE 9am. From
