DESCRIPTION:A United Launch Alliance Atlas V rocket\, designated AV-?\, wi
ll launch a batch of 29 operational satellites for the Amazon Leo constell
ation. The mission is known as Leo 6 by ULA and LA-06 by Amazon. Total pay
load mass will be ~16.7 tonnes. Atlas will deploy the satellites in an ini
tial orbit of 450km altitude\, the satellites will then use their electric
propulsion systems to settle into their assigned final orbits. The Amazon
Leo constellation will enable Internet service for customers between 56 d
egrees north and south latitude. Atlas will fly in the 551 vehicle configu
ration with a five-meter medium length fairing\, five GEM-63 solid rocket
boosters and a single-engine Centaur upper stage.\n\nMission profile video
: https://youtu.be/ZATwTLIbQu8\n-\nOperational satellites of the Amazon Le
o constellation (formerly known as Project Kuiper) are a significant upgra
de from the two prototype satellites of the Kuiper Protoflight mission. Th
e ~572kg satellites are equipped with Hall-effect thruster technology for
propulsion. They feature improved systems and sub-systems on board\, inclu
ding phased array antennas\, processors\, solar arrays\, propulsion system
s\, and optical inter-satellite links. In addition\, the satellites are co
ated in a dielectric mirror film unique to Amazon Leo that scatters reflec
ted sunlight to help make them less visible to ground-based astronomers. A
mazon Leo is planned to work in concert with Amazon's network of 12 satell
ite ground station facilities. In addition to connecting to ground station
s\, satellites will interconnect via optical infrared laser connections. A
mazon refers to this technology as OISL (optical inter-satellite link).\nT
he Amazon Leo constellation is planned to consist of 3236 satellites opera
ting in 98 orbital planes in three orbital shells\, one each at 590km\,
610km and 630km orbital altitude. Kuiper satellites will fly in mid-incli
nation orbits\, enabling Internet service for customers between 56 degrees
north and south latitude. Phase 1 of deployment will be 578 satellites at
630km altitude and an orbital inclination of 51.9 degrees. A total of fiv
e phases of constellation development are planned.\n-\nDelayed from Apr. 2
 4 and 27.\n\nWebcast: \nhttps://www.ulalaunch.com/missions/next-launch/at
