DESCRIPTION:Join us in honoring and sharing Norwegian family lore at the F
 lere Lag Stevne in Austin\, Minnesota\, September 15-18\, 2026! This gathe
 ring is sponsored by heritage groups whose ancestors came from the old reg
 ions of Norway including Solør\, Romerike (Akershus)\, Hedmark\, Gudbrand
 sdal\, and Trøndelag. Volunteer genealogists with experience in researchi
 ng those areas will be on hand to assist in tracing family history in Norw
 egian records. Janette Dragvold will perform folk tunes on hardanger fiddl
 e and nyckelharpa for our entertainment at the Thursday night banquet. Aus
 tin architect Miranda Moen is slated to give a presentation on “Houses o
 ur Ancestors Built” on Thursday afternoon. Other program topics during t
 he conference include “Writing Your Family Stories\,”  “Early Norwe
 gian Settlers in Southeast Minnesota\,” and “How to Research House His
 tory.” Full event and single-day registrations are available. A free No
 rdic Fair will be open to the public on Tuesday\, Sept. 15 (1-6 pm)\, Wedn
 esday\, Sept. 16 (10 am-6 pm)\, and Thursday\, Sept. 17 (8 am-4 pm). Vendo
 rs will have a variety of Scandinavian items for sale. The stevne will be 
 held at the DoubleTree by Hilton\, 1701 Fourth St. NW\, Austin\, MN 55912.
