  and immigrants to break down the financial and social barriers of startin
 g a new life in the United States.Founded in 2015 by Rachel Taber and Doug
  Hewitt\, 1951 Coffee operates a free Barista Training Program serving ref
 ugees and immigrants (40 adults and 25 youths per year) in the San Francis
 co Bay Area. Over 520 people have graduated from this program since 2016
 . 1951 Coffee also operates its own cafe location just two block south of 
 the UC Berkeley campus at 2410 Channing Way. This cafe location serves as 
 a convergence point for the immigrant community and the larger Bay Area co
 mmunity. Having employed 77 people\, the cafe currently employs 10 immigra
 nt staff in multiple entry level and leadership roles. The cafe program at
  1951 Coffee has put $2.4million in wages and benefits into the immigrant
  community since 2017.  Starting in 2021\, 1951 Coffee began offering bu
 siness incubation support for graduates of their program. Since that time 
 the team at 1951 Coffee has helped 14 immigrant lead businesses start in
