DESCRIPTION:Throughout the year\, Year 5 have been learning about\, ‘Ind
 igenous Culture’\, ‘Animal and Plant Adaptations’\, and ‘Early Co
 lonisation’ across our Key Learning Areas. To consolidate our learning a
 nd gain hands-on experience of these topics\, an overnight excursion has b
 een planned to Canberra. On Wednesday 9th and Thursday 10th\, Septembe
 r\, 2026\, Year Five will be travelling to Canberra with Cowra Bus Servic
 e for an overnight excursion. The accommodation will be at ‘Eaglehawk Pa
 rk Accommodation’. Students will participate in activities at the ‘Can
 berra Reptile Zoo’ where they will watch a show and be part of a tour\, 
 ‘Parliament House’ with a guided tour and hospitality session\, ‘Zon
 e Bowling’\, ‘The National Museum of Australia’ where students will 
 participate in a program called\, ‘The Story of Our Country’ followed 
 by a visit to ‘The National Arboretum’ and ‘Australian Institute of 
 Sport’ to take part in a guided tour and ‘Sportex’ simulation experi
 ence.  Teachers accompanying Year Five children on the excursion will be
  Laura Moodie\, Trinity Lavelle and Craig Jeffries. An itinerary and a lis
 t of what to bring will be sent home closer to the date. Please mark this
  date on your family calendar. The cost of this excursion is covered throu
 gh inclusions in the school fees. Please be aware that students must be sh
 owing positive behaviour to attend the excursion. Medication and Allergie
 sWe are also getting prepared with medication and food allergies\, whic
 h you are asked to inform staff prior to the excursion if this involves 
 your child. Please provide travel medication if your child is prone to t
 ravel sickness. Please clearly label all medications with your child’s n
 ame\, dosage and frequency in a see through snap lock bag. Consent to att
 end the excursion must be completed using compass by Friday 21st August.
