DESCRIPTION:April 18th is the anniversary of the demise of Mor Ivanios Yuh
 annon +1794.\n\nMor Ivanios Yuhannon accompanied St. Baselios Shakralla Ma
 phriyano to India as a Qashisho. He would be consecrated bishop by the sai
 nt in 1752 at Kandanad church. \n\nHe was instrumental in reintroducing th
 e West-Syriac Liturgy to the Malankara Church which had been freed from th
 e clutches of Roman Catholic supremacy only a century prior. Mor Ivanios a
 long with Mor Gregorios Yuhannon reconsecrated Mar Thoma VI as Mor Dionysi
 us I. Together with Mor Dionysius I\, Mor Ivanios Yuhannon would govern th
 e Malankara Church. \n\nMor Ivanios Yuhannon departed for the heavenly abo
 de on April 18th 1794. His mortal remains were interred in Chengannur Old
