It will be part of the Copernicus program. The Jason-CS (Jason Con tinuity of Service) mission will consist of two Sentinel 6 satellites. ESA was responsible for the development of the Sentinel 6A satellite\, the pr ototype processors\, delivery of the LEOP services\, and the procurement o f the recurrent satellite on behalf of EUMETSAT and the European Commissio n (EC). EUMETSAT is leading the system definition and is responsible for t he Jason-CS ground segment development\; operations preparation and operat ions of both satellites\, and co-funded the Sentinel 6B satellite\, togeth er with the EC. The European Commission also funds the operations of both Sentinel 6 satellites\, including the LEOP service for the second Sentine l 6B satellite. NOAA provides the launch services for both Sentinel 6 sate llites\, US payload instruments and ground segment support and will contri bute to the operations. The Falcon 9 booster is designated as B10XX for th is flight.\n\nMission profile video: https://twitter.com/Falcon_1e/status/ 1315009212716445696\n-\nThe Sentinel 6B spacecraft was built by Airbus Def ence and Space at their Friedrichshafen facility in Germany. It's 5.15m in length\, 2.35m in height\, and 2.58m in width. The satellite weighs appro ximately 1192kg when fully fueled for launch. The Sentinel 6 spacecrafts a re based on a platform derived from CryoSat 2\, but adjusted to the specif ic requirements of the Jason-CS mission and specific orbit. The orbit will remain the same as the earlier Jason orbit - non-sun-synchronous\, 1336 k m\, 66° inclination. The satellites are equipped with the following instr uments: A radar altimeter developed by ESA\, an AMR-C microwave radiometer provided by NOAA\, a GNSS Precise Orbit Determination (POD) receiver deve loped by ESA\, the same DORIS Receiver as on Jason 3 and Sentinel 3\, the same Laser Reflector Array as on Jason 3 and a radio-occultation instrumen t based on a Tri-G receiver\, provided by NOAA. Sentinel 6 satellites have a planned orbital lifetime of 5.5 years. LOCATION:Vandenberg AFB Space Launch Complex 4\, Lompoc\, Kalifornien 9343 6\, Vereinigte Staaten END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
