It combines a self-paced video with a live\, hands-on workshop to master the art of NBME-style question writing\, with a special emphasis on leveraging and critically reviewing items created using Generative AI.In this highly interactive\, hands-on session\, attendees will bring their pr e-generated draft questions to the table. Working in interdisciplinary tea ms\, faculty will engage in a rigorous peer-review “autopsy” of these items. The focus is on critically evaluating and collaboratively revising these AI-generated questions to ensure they are accurate\, well-structured \, test appropriate high-level concepts\, and fully align with NBME standa rds.Objectives:At the end of this two-part series\, participants will be a ble to: Identify the key components and structure of high-quality\, NBME- style multiple-choice questions (MCQs). Differentiate between well- and p oorly-written test items using NBME item-writing guidelines. Design and r efine effective prompts for using generative AI tools to brainstorm and cr eate high-quality\, NBME-style exam questions. Critically evaluate and re vise AI-generated exam items to ensure accuracy\, alignment with learning objectives\, and adherence to NBME question-writing standards. Appreciate the importance of interdisciplinary teamwork for creating and maintaining a pool of high-quality assessment items for a course.
