DESCRIPTION:India’s Geosynchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle (GSLV)\, fly
 ing on the GSLV-F17 mission\, will launch the EOS 5 satellite for ISRO int
 o orbit. GSLV will fly in the Mk.II version with uprated HTVE engines on t
 he boosters and second stage\, and a CUS-15 cryogenic third stage.\n-\nEOS
  5 (EOS-05 formerly known as GISAT 1A for GEO Imaging Satellite) is an Ind
 ian earth observing satellite operating for quick monitoring of natural ha
 zards and disaster. EOS 5 is built on a modified I-1K (I-1000) bus weighin
 g in at 2268 kg. EOS 5 carries an imaging payload consisting of of multi-s
 pectral (visible\, near infra-red and thermal)\, multi-resolution from 50m
  to 1.5km. EOS 5 will provide near real time pictures of large areas of th
 e country\, under cloud free conditions\, at frequent intervals. The GISAT
  payload consists of a 700mm Ritchey-Chretien telescope based on the Carto
 sat 2 design and array detectors in VNIR\, SWIR and LWIR bands\, a camera 
 electronics and data handling system and an electronically steerable trans
 mit antenna system. It will operate on an orbital slot around 93.5° East 
 for a planned service life of 7 years.\n-\nDelayed from November 2019\, Ju
 ly 2020\, Q1 2023\, March\, June 2024\, 2025 and Feb. 20.
