DESCRIPTION:A Mitsubishi Heavy Industries H3 rocket will launch the Martia
 n Moon Explorer mission MMX. The flight is designated as H3F10. After spen
 ding a year in transit\, the MMX spacecraft will enter orbit around Mars\,
  where the exploration module will begin mapping and characterizing the su
 rfaces of Phobos and Deimos using its eight scientific instruments. When t
 he spacecraft makes a close pass to Phobos\, between 40 and 100 meters fro
 m the surface\, it will deploy the Idefix rover\, which will then spend th
 e next three months studying targets of interest\, including sites where t
 he MMX spacecraft will gather samples for analysis on Earth. The launcher 
 will fly as 24L variant with two main engines\, four solid strap-on booste
 rs and a long fairing.\n-\nThe MMX spacecraft consists of three modules: t
 he propulsion\, the exploration\, and the sample return capsule. The explo
 ration module has landing legs and a suite of instruments\, including a Ga
 mma ray and Neutron Spectrometer (MEGANE) provided by NASA\, a Wide Angle 
 Multiband Camera (WAM)\, a Near-Infrared Spectrometer (MacrOmega) provided
  by CNES\, a Telescopic Camera (TL)\, a Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR
 ) instrument\, the Circum-Martian Dust Monitor (CMDM) and a Mass Spectrum 
 Analyzer (MSA). The xploration module will also carry and deploy the Idef
 ix rover. The exploration module and sample return capsule are connected t
 o the propulsion module\, where the thrusters and propellant tanks are loc
 ated.\n-\nDelayed from August and September 2024.
