[Live stream] What is an Ally? Panel Discussion

To mark International Allyship Day, our Staff Networks are hosting a special "What is an Ally?" event on Tuesday 11 August.This one-hour interactive panel session is designed to foster open, honest conversations about the genuine meaning of allyship and how it can be practiced effectively within our organisation.During this session, Chief Executive Helen Bailey will team up with representatives from all of our Staff Networks to listen directly to colleagues and leadership. Each network will discuss their key priorities, followed by a 30-minute open panel with Helen about what being an ally looks like. The panel will also include an HR & OD partner to provide further insight into the work the Council continues to do.The panel will be diving into critical issues, specifically discussing:Shared Challenges: Gaining insight into the lived experiences and unique hurdles faced by various colleagues and staff networks.Moving Forward: Exploring actionable ways we can work together to tackle these issues, support one another, and build a more inclusive culture.Please join us in the Events Hub (Third Floor, Civic Offices) or view the panel virtually.
