Digital Accessibility - Part 1

Join hereSpeaker:Cody Bailey-CrowInstructional Designer,Oakland University William Beaumont School of MedicineDescription:Following the Oakland University initiative to support digitally accessible content, this webinar will explore introductory topics related to digital accessibility. It is intended for OUWB faculty, staff, and administrators who create and disseminate digital content that is shared with students or publicly on Oakland University platforms (including Moodle, eSpace, social media, or websites). Specifically, this webinar will (1) provide a brief overview of ADA Title II Compliance standards; (2) provide introductory strategies for making digital content compliant in Moodle, eSpace, PowerPoint, Word, and Google Workspace applications; and, (3) introduce strategies for making recorded video content digitally accessible (i.e., providing captions and transcripts for those materials). Objectives:At the conclusion of this activity, learners should be better able to:Examine the ADA Title II Compliance standards that affect shared digital content (such as presentations, guides, or content on Moodle);Discuss common digital accessibility issues and their corresponding fixes; and,Identify strategies for providing accurate captions and transcripts for recorded video content.
